Mediation

Receiving basic mediation training, Susan became a mediator in January of 1991.  Since this time, Susan has mediated over 3,000 cases in all areas of the law. Some of the cases she has handled involve matters in the areas of:

Susan is not limited to being involved in cases that are on this list only. This list is representative and Susan mediates cases involving nearly any area of the law. She has mediation experience in many complex, high dollar cases and cases involving multiple parties.

In addition to her initial training, Susan completed advanced mediation training in September of 1991 and 1996, along with family law mediation training in October of 1993. She was an adjunct professor, teaching mediation, at the University of Houston Law Center from 1997 to 1993.

Arbitration

Since 1990, Susan has been acting as an arbitrator, a type of private judge in a wide range of cases. She has completed many trainings that enhance her abilities as an arbitrator. Susan has been appointed as an arbitrator in over 450 cases, either as a sole arbitrator or on panels of 3 arbitrators. When she has served on a panel, Susan has frequently been selected to act as Chair of the panel. She has experience in arbitrations involving up to 15 parties and in cases with millions of dollars at issue. Susan serves as a Panel Member on panels of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), including:
